Tanika, consultant in London:Learning a second language was a gift I promised myself when I turned 30.  I have been so lucky to have found such a wonderful, committed and supportive tutor in Julie. I am a slow learner but Julie makes feel so at ease and tailors our lessons to me perfectly; which has helped with my confidence and understanding of the French language tremendously!
I have found a new love for languages for sure :-)”

Alison, doctor in London:Julie is an excellent tutor. I had French conversation lessons with her for over two years. Each week we discussed different topics, covering a wide variety of subject areas, from literature to politics. This was brilliant for improving my vocabulary. She was always very well-prepared and we used a range of interesting articles, radio programmes and news reports to stimulate discussion. She is extremely supportive, friendly, reliable and enthusiastic. My french has improved hugely as a result of my lessons with her.”

Shanci, trader in London:I had weekly 2hr personal lessons with Julie for 2.5 years. The lessons were always well adapted to my progress and weaknesses. Julie also made sure to focus the discussions/homework around subjects which interested me to keep me motivated. She also has a lovely personality which made the 1-1 lessons very pleasant. I cannot recommend her more. I am now able to read and write at an advanced level, and am comfortable conversing in French in a social context

Mark, traveling to Switzerland for work: Julie was my tutor once a week for almost 3 years. Starting as almost a complete beginner, against the odds she diligently and patiently built up my vocabulary, grammar, and general conversational French to a standard where I now feel confident speaking in French when travelling there, and in many situations. Julie is an extremely patient teacher; an attribute that was tested to the extreme by my a slow learner such as myself! She gives clear instructions, her approach is easy to follow; I always felt at ease and comfortable by her relaxed, friendly manner – all attributes I found extremely helpful in a learning environment. In short, Julie is a delight and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Alexandra, working in finance: I have a good base level of French and Julie was able to help me focus in on the areas I needed to improve on the most. I think she is wonderful for all levels of French as she finds a programme that suits your learning objectives. Also she is very nice, reliable, fun to work with and overall is a great tutor!

Jacqueline, director in finance: “I have had weekly French language tuition with Julie over a long period. This has covered discussion, reading, grammar revision and writing skills. Julie is an excellent teacher, she goes to great lengths to understand the reasons for you wanting to study, your desired outcomes and particular interests, in order that she can tailor the lessons to provide maximum benefit. She is always punctual and has an excellent manner. I would not hesitate to recommend her at the highest level.

Students preparing exams:

Ayaka, working for an international organisation in Korea: “Cannot recommend Julie more. She offers quality 1 on 1 french lessons at a reasonable price. I have been taught by her over the past two years and my French improved from borderline DELF A2 to DELF B2. I am now using French for client-facing work. Not only Julie genuinely cares about the improvement of her student’s french skills, but she also makes the lesson fun, which made me continue with them.”

Michele, mum of a GCSE student:Julie helped my son out with his French GCSE when he needed help with his written composition and oral examination. Julie was a punctual and reliable teacher who was patient and caring. Although we only had 3 sessions my son’s pronunciation improved dramatically and the standard of his essay improved. He narrowly missed an A in his GCSE but this was still a good result for him.

Zoe, mum of GCSE Higher-Tier student: In the short time that Julie worked with my daughter she instilled a confidence that we had never seen before in the subject. My daughter is half French, comprehension was never an issue but grammar was holding her back from taking the higher GSCE paper until Julie arrived. Julie is nurturing and task oriented in equal measure. Always punctual and goes above and beyond. Julie is focused and passionate about teaching, I’m very grateful for her commitment. My daughter obtained an 8 out of 9 at her exam.”

Roberta, civil servant in London: Best French lessons ever! I went from A2 to B1 and successfully passed the DELF with flying colours. The lessons were really interesting and used materials tailored to my interests exposing me to different aspects of french culture (famous novels, French vloggers etc). I was a very shy french speaker but my teacher was super patient and kind which really boosted my confidence! The prices was super reasonable, would highly recommend!

Corporate students:

Kelly, working in the fashion industry in London: Julie was a great French teacher, she has been my tutor for 2 years. I’m a manager of a boutique and hardly have any time to learn a new language. She is patient, professional and fun. My French has improved so much over the years, thank you to Julie made me realise it’s never too late to learn a new language; but it’s important to have a great teacher! I understand most of the French conversations now!”

Lucia, working in the bank sector in Monaco and London:I have been studying with Julie for 1 year and half, starting from no knowledge of French. I needed to work on a full immersion programme, because I was moving into a French Bank and needed to use business french in order to effectively communicate with the internal teams. Julie is a brilliant teacher and it is fun to study with her. She is an energetic but respected educator that can be a great part of any community. Today my level is intermediate and I can understand, speak and write French very naturally.
